Some of my biggest craft shows were in the Fall, and what better gift to give an October or November baby than his or her very own pumpkin hat? A bit seasonal, but still cute all year.
This is an easy and adorable hat to knit with minimal finishing: the hat is knitted in the round, switching from orange to brown for the stem, so there are only your casting-on and binding-off ends to work in.
The body of the hat is set off by a purl rib and the stem is worked in brown, ending in I-cord.
The finished measurements for this hat are 16" and 18".
The yarn is Peaches & Creme 100% unmercerized cotton in worsted weight, and the colors are orange and brown. This yarn is soft, has a nice hand, and works up quickly at 4sts=1" in stockinette stitch on size 7 needles (needles not included).
The kit contains enouch yarn to make the larger size hat plus complete instructions.
This is a project you can do in an evening and have ready for the baby shower tomorrow!
